Greenfield Kids Foundation
Greenfield Kids Foundation is a subsidiary project of Hamurwa Needy Children Project. (HNCP) The district of Kabale became very big and the government decided to divide it into two districts, and our project found itself in a new district called Rubanda, so we changed and registered it as a new project. Latest info can be found in our blog.
There are 210 needy children in the project, 104 of them are orphans while others are needy.
|
The primary goal of the project is to cater for the educational needs of the needy children, as most of them are orphaned, abandoned and/or neglected while others are unable to survive on their own, despite having a relative to stay with.
Promoters of Greenfield Kids Foundation are people with high caliber and developed minds. The idea of establishing the Greenfield Kids Foundation was to support the needy children and orphans so that they could grow scientifically oriented.
The project has an executive board comprised of 5 members chaired by Mr. Christopher Buhazi.
Board members and promoters have well tested skills in the field of child care, education and social administration.
The promoters of the school, who are the founders, came up with a common idea, to identify communities in their respective areas and examine their needs and problems related to educational improvement caused by lack of schools and a lack of income generating activities, which will in turn be a source of school fees. This is because many children fail to go to primary and secondary or institutional schools.
ICT Centre and the primary school in the project is designed for these cases.
The board focuses on needy children and orphans to ensure they are raised in a scientific-oriented and technologically upright environment.
The project mostly serves pupils from the Hamurwa Community and other neighboring areas, with particular focus on orphans and other needy children, including those from neighboring districts, such as Kisoro District, kanungu District, Rukungiri District…

A key HNCP strategy is to provide personal hygiene education and supplies so
that pupils can maintain their well-being, are comfortable, have settled morale
and in turn are better able to concentrate on their studies.
You can help the children by sending personal health and hygiene supplies. Any
personal health and hygiene supplies that you would typically expect to use in
your country is of great value to the needy children of Greenfield Kids Foundation.

Send Mattresses, Beds,
Mosquito Nets and Bedding
The orphans and needy children of Greenfield Kids Foundation live in very poor conditions. Most
children do not sleep in a bed at night. Some children sleep on a mat on the
floor and some children sleep directly on the floor.
The provision of mattresses, beds, and bedding will significantly improve the
living conditions and ability to realize the benefits of attending school. The
provision of mosquito nets will preserve life by assisting in the prevention of
vector-borne diseases.
Typically, the cost of shipping will be prohibitive when sending large items,
but bedding, pillow, and mattresses in
general, and second-hand items in good condition, may be sent at a reasonable
cost.
